Aeas of Specialty:
Public Relations, Writing & Strategic Planning
Mary Ann founded MAD Communications in 1997 after
working for more than 13 years in corporate
communications and advertising environments. She is a
seasoned writer and public relations professional
working with businesses – corporate, consumer,
not-for-profit and advertising agencies.
Providing an array of communications planning,
writing, and public relations services, her specialty is
helping clients find the right words to get their
messages across, whether it be articulating business
strategy, communicating organizational change, starting
a new venture, launching a new product or sharing an
insightful idea.
As strategic planner, Mary Ann has led project teams
in developing integrated marketing communications
campaigns and initiatives. In doing so, she first works
directly with clients to define program objectives,
establish expectations and goals, and deliver quality
creative products on time and on budget.
As a writer, Mary Ann’s work conveys her clients'
ideas with accuracy, style and persuasion. In addition
to writing collateral brochures, ads and other marketing
materials, her work has appeared in numerous
publications, both under her byline and as a
ghostwriter.
As a PR strategist, she has crafted communications
plans that have helped her clients to strengthen
awareness, boost sales and gain recognition.
Her work has recognized for professional excellence
by the Public Relations Society of America (Southern
Connecticut Chapter) and the New England Publicity Club.
A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University (BS
in Journalism), Mary Ann is a member of the Independent
Creative Club, an association of self-employed
communications professionals. She also is actively
involved in various local community and State
organizations.
